Winter fashion: 3 types of boots every woman should have
If there’s one thing most women can agree on, it’s that a good pair of boots is a closet staple – especially for winter. Boots are practical, comfortable and stylish, and they can be worn with a variety of different outfits. Now that winter’s here, it’s time to look through your closet and make sure you have the boots you need. Take a look at these styles of boots every woman should have in her wardrobe:
1. Tall boots
Tall boots could encompass any number of different styles, but the most practical and versatile tall style for daily wear is riding boots. Riding boots stop under the knee and are made of stiff leather or other structured materials that don’t slouch. These shoes generally don’t have more than a 1-inch heel and usually have a zipper up the side or back. You’ll likely see this style on women more than other boots during fall and winter because they’re easy to wear with most outfits and keep legs warm. If you’re looking to buy riding boots, try to find them in either brown or black so they’ll complement most outfits you’ll wear. The one downfall with this tall style: Even though they’re great for wearing over slim pants, leggings and tights, they’re a bit difficult to tuck under flared pants and trousers.
2. Ankle boots
Ankle boots, as the name suggests, are any style that stops around or just above the ankle. Ankle boots often have at least a short heel, which makes them great for wearing to the office or to nicer occasions. Again, styles in black or brown will complement the most clothes in your closet. However, if you’re looking to add some panache to your shoe collection, experiment with bright colors or less common neutrals like gray or beige as well. Plus, unlike their taller counterparts, ankle boots work perfectly under flared trousers while still giving you more winter warmth than flats or pumps!
3. Winter boots
For women in areas that have snowy and icy winters, a good-quality pair of winter boots is an absolute must. Winter boots should be weatherproof, have good traction and keep your feet and ankles insulated against the cold. Though sheepskin boots have become very popular in the past several years, they don’t protect against snow and rain very well, so if that’s all you have, you may want to consider finding something a little more impervious to wetness.
